Located in one of the snowiest regions of one of the snowiest prefectures of Japan, Niigata, Kakurei is the main brand of the over 300 year old brewery, Aoki Shozou. The brewery believes in WAGO, or Harmonization. They believe that there is a spirit of enduring and cooperation that connects rice growers, brewers, sake shops and the end consumer. To that end, their style is unique and distinctive, focusing on umami and the pure taste of rice in their sake without forgetting the traditions of the famous Niigata sake region.
